Disney Movie Nights - Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides

This has been my favorite night so far!! We cleaned off all of those plates on the table, YUMMO! Great Movie too :)

I used the leftover caramel sauce from the sopapillas from last night, poured it over 2 bags of popped popcorn (minus unpopped kernels ) baked in large roaster or pan at 200 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes - it is OH SO YUMMY!!!!!!!

Disney Movie Nights - The Three Caballeros & (non Disney) Three Amigos

Another fun movie night! Fiesta style!! We watched The Three Caballeros, and Three Amigos!

Sopapillas - fried dough, with caramel sauce and powdered sugar topping (no pic sorry)

for the sopapillas, I used biscuit dough (from a can) Ive seen different ways, but this was the easiest for me, rolled it out thin and cut it, fried it in oil, I then topped them all with some caramel sauce I made using THIS recipe, and powdered sugar. Excellente!

Disney Movie Nights - The Little Mermaid

Our second movie night was a big hit just as our first night. These dinner ideas were all original, and was very fun to come up with .

Disney Movie Nights - Cars

We are having a Disney movie night tonight, one of many I hope to do with my kiddos. Some of the food ideas I found online, and the others I came up with myself.

Chick Hicks Chicken (Oven baked chicken)
Mater's Taters (mashed potatoes)
Mack's Macaroni (macaroni and cheese)
Lizzie's Broccoli (broccoli with cheese)
Fillmore's organic fuel (cherry or other dark colored drink)
Luigi's tower of Tires (stacked mini chocolate donuts)
McQueen's Traffic Lights (vanilla wafers with icing and red yellow and green m&ms)

We ended up not making the macaroni, there was already so much going on and plenty of food, we could switch out the potatoes for macaroni when we have another Cars movie night. The dinner was a huge hit, and everyone said it was yummy! Veronica said it was the best dinner ever! Lots of fun, and a great movie to follow the meal up with :)

Twilight party -

Cheap finds for a Twilight party!
Veronica requested a Twilight themed party for her birthday coming in December. I know it's 5 months away, but I saw these and I had to have them and craft them!
I found the large size (around 8") Bishop and pawn pieces in the clearance section for $1.30 & $1ea, I also scored the broken stem apple for $1 too!
I purchased some "Creative Paperclay" modeling material (cost $1.80 at hobbylobby with a 40% off coupon) which is air dry, perfect for what I need it for. I fashioned a slightly bigger knob on the top of the Bishop, and a flattened another piece of clay and wrapped it wround the top. Next came the pointed peeks of the queen's crown and making it flair out a bit. It doesn't match the book cover perfectly, but close enough for myself and Veronica! After it dries completely I will smooth out the small cracks and paint it a coat of white all over. The pawn was easy, just painted it red, seen here it is covered with 3 coats of acrylic paint.
easy peasy, makes a statement, and inexpensive just the way I like it!
